Avec le thème «Beau temps pour étendre», Roadsworth a imaginé la «ruelle» Ste-Catherine transpercée de pissenlits. Cette plante est certainement la plus commune en ville. Sa capacité à se reproduire dans les conditions les plus difficiles en fait une battante. «Aires Libres» arborera donc avec fierté ce symbole de nature indomptée en milieu urbain. Cette fleur, trop souvent affublée du préjugé de mauvaise herbe, nous amène à réfléchir sur nos jugements parfois hâtifs. Le pissenlit annonce l'été et au fil de la saison, il germe, fleurit et parvient à maturité pour laisser s'échapper ses semences. Peter Gibson et son équipe produiront les pochoirs «en direct». In line with this year’s theme, Beau temps pour étendre, Roadsworth has envisioned the Ste. Catherine St. 'alley' studded with dandelions, without a doubt the most common plant in the city. Its capacity to reproduce in the toughest of conditions makes this plant resilient. Aires Libres will sport with pride the symbol of undaunted nature in the urban environment. This flower, too often unjustly perceived as a bad weed, raises the question about our sometimes hasty judgements. The dandelion announces summer. It will germinate, bloom and grow into maturity by dispersing its seeds. Like the dandelion, we enthusiastically hope that everything Aires Libres embodies will germinate throughout Montreal. Peter Gibson and his team will be creating their stencil art live. Come and witness the unfolding of an impressive creative process!
